Abstract: The present study analyzes options in saving and investment decisions. The study used primary data collected from 384 potential investors in Karnataka. The principal component analysis is used for the factor analysis. The study analyzed and found that individuals have been jointly considered gold and jewellery, bonds and debenture, and derivative options for their investment with high priority. It has been revealed that modern investors have given higher priority to investment options than saving options. At the same time, the combination of saving and investment options like insurance policy and mutual funds are considered for saving and investment with second highest priority. Post office saving scheme is the single factor identified under the third component with the third highest priority. Accordingly, the factor analysis succeeded in identifying the combination of options under the three components in order to make better saving and investment decisions.
